But for most people it is a convenient way out and it is killing their business.

Let me explain; Attraction Marketing is the term used to describe people coming to you as opposed to you pushing your business on to people. How cool does that sound? Instead of cold calling, selling, hassling and pushing the business and products people come to you and ask if they can join your business and buy your products instead. How amazing is that? Fact or fiction?

Well the truth is that it is possible to make this happen in time if done right. But just like the movie “The Secret” people read into it what they want to and use it as an excuse to avoid pain and rejection. For example, after the movie “The Secret” was released (I presume you have seen it) people were complaining that they were visualizing their dream car, dream house, lottery winnings etc but they never came to fruition. The Secret was obviously a scam right? Wrong. The principals of the secret work if you work at it. Your dream life doesn’t just show up over night through visualization and I think people knew that.

It’s the same with attraction marketing. People are fearful about picking up the phone and calling leads, they procrastinate about building relationships and they are not prepared to go out and meet people face to face. These are the bare essentials in building a successful MLM business. So what do people turn to in order to avoid rejection and hard work? Attraction Marketing and the Internet.

“I know, I’ll use attraction marketing to make people come to me instead of making calls.” So they set up a Blog, post incredible status updates on Facebook, Tweet and maybe even set up a capture page and an auto-responder series.

The check their Facebook messages, emails and Blog comments, only to ask “why isn’t everyone wanting to join my business? I have been putting it out there that my business is so amazing, I put up on Facebook how good my products are and I even have a few people opt in to my website. I don’t understand why I don’t have dozens of people lining up to join my business.”

You see people will spend all day on Facebook “chatting,” posting messages, spam and updating their status to avoid phone calls, meetings and rejection. People will not come to you asking to join your business through attraction marketing initially. You can waste 2 years trying that and sign up 0 people and wonder what is going wrong. Or you can understand how it really works, set up an attraction marketing system that will really work for you in your spare time while spending your productive time enrolling people and growing your business.

Be very careful about your perception of attraction marketing and be very, very careful about teaching it to your team, it may just be the thing that stops them doing the every day activities that work in MLM.

Attraction marketing is best utilized, taught and understood offline first. Here it can work for you in a big way quickly and initially with your business. Meet people, phone people, build relationships but don’t “pitch” your business. Ask about them, take an interest and then briefly explain what you do. If they show interest then you can expand on your business. This is attraction marketing – you have built some quick rapport, maybe even a relationship and now they like you and want to know more.

You can also use the take away here for great effect such as changing the subject back to them, or saying “you probably wouldn’t be interested but…….” If they are the right people they won’t be able to resist coming to you to find out more. (Attraction marketing at its best offline). If you just started selling your business or products hardcore to a stranger straight up they will run a mile (opposite to attraction marketing). But if you sit in the corner with your expensive shoes and flash suit saying nothing no-one is going to come up to you and ask about it either. There is a fine balance.

MLM is a relationship business, a trust business and a people business. If you are not prepared to speak with people and build relationships it will not work for you in a big way long term.

Can attraction marketing work for you then, or is it just a fast? Well the answer is that it can work for you if done right. It will take some time to set up your social media correctly and build your list and following. Once that is done you will need to work at constant interaction with that following. Constant emails, Facebook interaction, Tweeting, Blog posts etc. This may take you 1, 2 or maybe 3 years to get enough of a following to make it work for you and that’s why you need to set it up in your spare time and not make it your focus in the beginning, otherwise you will set yourself up for failure.

Now here is the key, the secret to making it work for you. Once set up correctly people will start sending you Facebook messages asking you how come your are on holidays again? (because of your MLM business of course) people will start emailing you asking for advice, people will start calling you asking to join your business, you will get people opting into your website. You now have the right people believing in you. Now you need to call them. Call them, call them, call them. People can come to you all day long, but if you don’t connect with them personally they will move on very quickly.

In summary, attraction marketing can work for you if done right over a period of time if you are prepared to follow them up personally. It can kill your business if you spend your whole time trying to make this work for you initially, it will kill your business if you don’t connect with people and it will kill your business if you don’t do it correctly.

There is a fine line between pushing your business and products onto everyone and trying to sell, sell, sell before building the relationship (this will never work) and sitting back waiting for people to join your business through attraction marketing (this also will never work).

Do the bare essentials initially to build your business, get some runs on the board, set up and understand your attraction marketing system the right way in your spare time and then and only then can you enjoy the fruits of attraction marketing working for you without killing your business.

Are you looking for that magic wand to get 100’s of leads and make millions of dollars without picking up the phone? Sorry it doesn’t exist, although some “gurus’ with a lack of integrity will sell you products and memberships claiming you can.

For the other 6 top ways we are generating leads you can browse our blog closer. They are a little sexier and 5 of them don’t require you picking up the phone. They are lead generators only and very powerful MLM marketing tools, yet they won’t make you a millionaire until you combine them with PICKING UP THE PHONE. But at least you have the right people to speak to now right?

So all of the previous 6 ways we have shown you in this 7 series MLM marketing strategies series are very powerful and they work if you do them right and do them regularly. However nothing will beat picking up the phone and making that call to that key person. Get over the fear today or suffer a mediocre life for eternity!

The key here is really how many calls you make, what you say, how you say it and who you are saying it to. Get this combination right and you will become financially free with MLM marketing.

But who do you call? Well start with your warm market. Your business opportunity is great right? Why wouldn’t you want your Dad, Brother, Sister to make extra money like you? Your products are the best right? Why wouldn’t you want your friends and loved ones to benefit from your products or services? People that say “I don’t want to speak to my friends and family about my business and products” are crazy. Essentially it is code for “I’m not that serious about my business or financial freedom.” So if your down-line say that at least you know the code language for it now.

Use your memory jogger to build your list. Who is your plumber, doctor, lawyer, personal trainer, neighbour, teacher, chiropractor etc? Everyone should be able to make a list of 100 people minimum and get calling as part of your MLM marketing.

My biggest MLM marketing tip for the phone is to get on as many 3-way phone calls as humanly possible each week. Your MLM business success can simply be determined in the early days by how many 3-way calls you do. Even once you are experienced 3-way phone calls with your up-line work very well. 3rd party endorsements can be the difference between an enrolment or not. Make the business bigger than yourself as quickly as possible.

3-way phone calls are better than just getting your up-line to call your leads as you now get to hear what they say at the same time as your prospect gets the information said to then the right way. This is the perfect way to earn and learn. Anybody with half a heart beat can say “Hi I have come across an amazing part time lucrative business opportunity that I just know if it is the right timing for you, you would be great at it. I just started but when would you be free for a business conference call.” Book in the time and then do the 3-way call with your up-line that you trust and can work with.

This is MLM marketing at its simplest and most productive, yet so many people fail to do it because of fear. Again if this is not been done by your down-line and you are offering the service its another code for “I’m not serious about my MLM business or financial freedom”. Just so you know!

Before you get into this strategy you will need to sit down and work out your budget. This is not one of the “cheapie” MLM marketing strategies. Most banners that we use on busy MLM sites cost us between $400 and $2,000 a month. But boy oh boy do they generate us some leads. Quality ones at that.

The second thing you will need to consider before jumping into this MLM marketing is your landing page website. When they click on the banner do you have a high converting landing page that captures your prospects name, email and phone number? If not you will be wasting a lot of money each month.

If you have the budget and you have tested your landing page website then away we go. This could possibly be the 3rd biggest MLM marketing lead generating technique that you will ever do.

Once confident that you are ready to go the rest is quite simple. Either design a banner yourself or outsource this to a design guru (recommended) and then place it on a high traffic MLM website and wait for the leads to pour in.

The 5th best way that we are generating incredible leads for our MLM business is through referrals. This seems like a very simple and often overlooked MLM marketing strategy but I can tell you from experience that is has been one of the best for us (5th best for leads in-fact).

The number 1 best thing about this strategy is that the leads are generally quality and one of the highest converting. This can be one of your best MLM marketing strategies.

This does generally require the “scary” thought of picking up the phone. But I am presuming that if you are reading this article you are one of the serious MLM marketing contenders and actually have the burning desire to grow your business no matter what. Fear of the phone is just code for “not enough desire”.

That said here is how we have done it with great success.

Get a list of the top (and I mean the Top) business people and Entrepreneurs that you know. Call them up and ask them for a referral that you can call about a business opportunity that you think is going to explode. You are only looking for smart switched on business leaders at this stage.

What we have found with this MLM marketing strategy is that our business has exploded. 98% of the time that we have asked for referrals we have received at least 1 great referral. Most of the time we average 3.

50% of the time we ask these “top business” people they end up joining the business first (just in case). The fear off loss and the potential gain for Entrepreneurs is too much of a carrot to ignore in most cases.

20% of the time that person that we rang ends up building the business to some degree. Sometimes to a huge business and sometimes just those first few initial leads.

But what this MLM marketing strategy does is open you up to the “right” people that have a very god chance of been one of your best business builders. Because they are a referral from a respected friend they will always hear you out. You have a great chance of enrolling these people into your primary business.

Of course if they say no, remember to ask that person for a referral or 3 as well. This one strategy will keep you busy all year long if you do it right. Because you have a massive “Why” and nothing will stop you (you are the real deal) picking up the phone to do this will be just another day at the home office. If this MLM marketing strategy daunts you then you need to go back to square one and ask yourself if you are really serious about living the life of your dreams. The MLM industry will deliver that for you if you are willing to pick up the phone and build relationships.

The sixth way we are generating great leads for our business is through local classified ads. This is another low cost MLM marketing strategy. We literally use less than 20 words to get the attention, curiosity and call to action of our target market.

All areas and papers will differ, but we get our ads in the local papers for 3 days a week, every week for just $80 per month.

Here are some important tips for you to make sure this works best for your business. As a MLM marketing strategy you want to keep the costs down, especially early on in your business. We have used half page ads before with great success (tip – write this as if it was news not an advertisement) but the problem is it will cost around $2,000 or more depending on where you live for this kind of ad. So small classifies work well.

Pick an area or newspaper that is not saturated. By this I mean there are not 20 different papers that the locals can choose from each day that are all 500 pages thick. Your little classified ad will get lost like a needle in a haystack and your MLM marketing will have very little chance of success. For example where I live we have about 4 or 5 different newspapers that you can buy each day and they are all as thick as a novel. Yet just down the road in the next State there is only one newspaper and it is relatively small. Our leads from this paper are the best out of anywhere despite the smaller population which also comes into consideration.

Another very important consideration is to get in front of your target market. We have found newspapers that have a certain day of the week that has a large and deliberate business section, including “businesses for sale,” “Self employed opportunities” and “commission only” classifieds amongst the business articles. People interested in business in general get the paper on this day. They also read the business section and a vast majority of them look through the classifieds.

I know I did this every Tuesday for a year when I was looking for an opportunity. I couldn’t wait until Tuesday came around. You will get the right prospects looking and enquiring if your ad is in on this day in this section of the paper. With the right words and headlines you will have MLM marketing success with this.

Again, like in the first article with your signs have a high converting tested website in the ad or a 1300 number with voice to email service. Avoid mobile or cell numbers for a more professional look.
